Pet to Threat is a Real Phenomenon

The concept of “pet to threat” is real and we need to talk about it more. In honor of Black History Month I’d like to make you aware of the numbers found in AON’s human capital insights.

At The UP Collection, specifically at #readUP, we believe in providing news that may not necessarily be in your “echo chamber”. You may ask “What do you mean, echo chamber?” For reference “echo chambers” are our self fulfilling canon. We are drawn to people who are like us and when we are don’t intentionally seek out dissenting voices we create a quasi-canon in our group. This is also known as “group think”! As you may already be aware “group think” is the enemy of innovation. We are all susceptible to “echo chambers” of our own making. But I digress…

This is not an indictment of anyone or any group. This is about awareness. The good news is according to AON’s insights the “transition from a pet to a threat is a workplace symptom that can be eliminated or, in the least, alleviated. By building awareness of the issue and taking action to foster a culture of inclusion and support, companies can build on the benefits already apparent from having women in leadership.”

Awareness is KEY… Because when we know better when we have the opportunity to do better!

Let’s discuss!
