Just Add Water

I saw a meme that said “You will bloom if you take the time to water yourself” and it resonated.

I wrote the other day about manifestation; not as some “pie in the sky” concept but as WORK. And someone challenged me saying “that doesn’t work for everyone”.

I had to really think about it; because everyone’s circumstances are not the same. We are all starting from different places. While I sit at an intersectionality that all but guarantees there are many who have more privilege than me. I can also recognize my own privilege.

And I just kept thinking:

I hope someone is speaking life into you.

I hope someone is pouring into you.

I hope you haven’t given up.

And then I had to get out of that default external locus of control mind set (that has made me miss countless opportunities) and say:

I speak life into you.

I will pour into you.

So that you will not give up.

Sometimes our negative self-talk is not “self” at all. It’s someone else’s ideas that have been imposed upon us.

Listen, one thing about me, I might default to external locus of control. But you can take to the bank that, no matter the circumstance, I’m not going to let someone else tell me who I am and what is for me.

I heard someone say, “No one else is supposed to understand your calling. It wasn’t a conference call.” And it’s the truth.

Sometimes no one understands the vision but you. So be consistent in watering yourself! ...and when you grow a little sprinkle someone else. That’s how growth becomes exponential.

... as always, I’m rooting for you! Xoxo 💋
